Our client is seeking experienced and technically qualified Fire Engineers to provide expert advice on high-risk building projects, support Gateway 2 applications, and strengthen the building control system across England.

This is a key opportunity to join a forward-thinking team focused on cultural change, safety improvement, and regulatory excellence in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical fire engineering advice for complex and high-risk buildings (HRBs)

  • Lead on Gateway 2 application reviews

  • Draft specialist technical reports and act as an expert witness where required

  • Support site inspections, compliance assessments, and enforcement actions

  • Apply relevant fire safety standards (e.g. BS 9999, BS 7974) and the Building Safety Act 2022

Essential Requirements

  • Substantial experience in fire safety design and assessment of HRBs

  • In-depth knowledge of building control processes and relevant legislation

  • Proficiency in applying Approved Documents and fire engineering standards

  • Level 6 qualification (degree level) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Building Studies, Construction, Civil Engineering, Surveying)
