- Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components to customer specifications.
- Write and adjust CNC programmes using FANUC controls.
- Plan machine setups to maximise efficiency and accuracy.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, ensuring components are manufactured to tight tolerances.
- Carry out in-process inspection using micrometres, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
- Work independently to ensure Right First Time (RFT) output and maintain production targets.
- Support and maintain continuous improvement activities through an understanding of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and 5S workplace organisation.
- Identify and resolve machine or tooling issues to minimise downtime.
- Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, stainless steel, and exotic alloys.
- Proven experience in CNC milling programming, setting, and operating.
- Familiarity with FANUC control systems.
- The ability to work from detailed engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and production efficiency.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection techniques.
- An apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification would be beneficial, but is not essential for the right candidate with hands-on experience.
