This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, experienced Credit Controller who's ready for their next big challenge! A well-established business in Wolverhampton is undergoing an exciting restructure, and as part of that, they're looking for someone to take full ownership of a sizeable ledger and lead on a high-priority aged debt project. If you're someone who loves untangling complex issues and creating meaningful change, this is the role for you.

You'll be walking into a team that's eager to support you, and a business that's truly ready to invest in this area. They've created a role that offers the freedom to take control, make decisions, and really put your stamp on things - from reviewing processes and client terms to implementing brand new systems. It's a temp-to-perm position (3 months temp initially) simply because they need someone to start ASAP - but the long-term view is absolutely permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own ledger of around 1000 accounts, keeping on top of payments and ensuring cash flow stays strong.
  • Take the lead on a high-profile aged debt project - investigating, resolving and recovering missed payments.
  • Create and implement efficient, effective credit control processes tailored to the business's needs.
  • Review current payment terms and client agreements, recommending improvements where needed.
  • Build great relationships with customers to resolve queries and secure payment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and seamless finance processes.
  • Provide regular updates on debtor performance, recovery progress and key wins.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the finance team, helping shape a more robust credit control function.

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Strong Credit Control experience, ideally managing high-volume ledgers.
  • Confident with aged debt and recovering overdue payments.
  • A natural problem-solver with a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Someone who enjoys improving and building processes, not just following them.
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative and can-do mindset.
  • Available immediately or on a short notice period.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid working available after the initial 3-month period.
  • Competitive annual leave and pension scheme.
  • Birthday off and other lovely perks.
  • Supportive, friendly team environment where your voice matters.
  • The chance to completely own and shape the Credit Control function - your ideas will be welcomed and actioned.

This is more than just a Credit Control role - it's a chance to truly take ownership, lead a game-changing project, and build a cleaner, better-functioning finance process from the ground up. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
