Do you have a knack for solving problems, keeping calm under pressure, and delivering outstanding customer service? We're looking for a Complaints Officer who can own each case from start to finish, ensuring every customer feels listened to, respected, and informed.

As a Complaints Handler, you'll manage a varied caseload, investigate complaints in line with the Housing Ombudsman code, and work closely with colleagues across the business to find fair, practical resolutions. You'll be the dedicated point of contact for customers throughout their complaint journey, providing timely updates and clear explanations at every stage.

What you'll do as a Complaints Handler

  • Take ownership of complaints from initial acknowledgement to resolution.

  • Investigate issues thoroughly and prepare clear, concise reports.

  • Support vulnerable customers to ensure our service is accessible to all.

  • Liaise with colleagues and senior leaders to remove barriers and find solutions.

  • Keep accurate records and meet performance targets for timeliness and customer satisfaction.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in complaint handling, ideally in a regulated environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A calm, empathetic, and professional approach - even in challenging situations.

  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Solid IT skills and a good eye for detail.

Essential as a Complaints Handler

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

  • Basic understanding of housing regulation (desirable but not essential).
