Aspire are seeking a committed and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEN school. You will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, and/or learning difficulties.
Working closely with class teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver high-quality, inclusive education and support pupils to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess learning activities under the direction of the teacher
* Lead small group and one-to-one interventions tailored to individual needs
* Support pupils with SEN, adapting learning approaches as required
* Assist with the development and implementation of EHCP targets
* Manage behaviour positively in line with school policies
* Provide feedback on pupil progress to teachers and senior staff
* Support classroom organisation and contribute to a safe, nurturing environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
* Experience working in an SEN setting (essential)
* Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting challenging needs
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
