Position: Finishing Supervisor

Salary: 150.00 per day (CIS/ Umbrella) + Van + tools + fuel card

Contract Type: Freelance ongoing (possible temp - perm)

Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of refurbishment projects, we are seeking an experienced Finishing Supervisor to oversee the final stages of delivery across a variety of social housing schemes around Wolverhampton.

Role Overview

The Finishing Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion and handover of refurbished properties to clients. You will be responsible for managing and inspecting all finishing of properties and ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with client specifications.

This role demands attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in live environments-minimising disruption for residents while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of internal and external finishing works, including plastering, painting, flooring, tiling, carpentry, kitchen and bathroom installations.
  • Lead snagging and de-snagging activities; produce snagging reports and ensure rectifications are completed prior to handover.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, building regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, client representatives, and residents to ensure smooth communication and project delivery.
  • Ensure finishing works across void and occupied properties are completed with minimal disruption, maintaining professional standards and resident satisfaction at all times.
  • Monitor site progress, record daily activities, and assist in updating project documentation and reports.
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across all sites.

Candidate Requirements

  • CSCS card (essential); SMSTS or SSSTS (essential); First Aid at Work (preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience in a Finishing Supervisor, Site Supervisor, or similar role within the social housing refurbishment sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of finishing trades and property refurbishment, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms, internal finishes, and remedial works.
  • Proven ability to manage works in occupied properties, with sensitivity to residents and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with operatives, clients, and residents alike.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, safe, and quality-driven working environment.
  • Experience with snagging software (e.g., Fieldview, SnagR, or similar) is advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across sites as required.
