The Role
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for translating customer demand into effective internal schedules, ensuring that production, stock levels, and delivery targets are consistently met. Working closely with internal departments and external customers, you will support new product introductions and end-of-life transitions, while maintaining a strong focus on planning adherence, stock control, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Analyse and translate customer schedules into sales data and internal capacity plans.

Develop and maintain production plans to meet fluctuating customer demand while balancing stock profiles.

Monitor stock levels and co-ordinate physical stock checks to ensure SAP system accuracy.

Lead planning activities linked to New Product Introduction (NPI) and end-of-life phases.

Maintain customer portals and systems; act as main point of contact for schedule and logistics performance.

Participate in customer performance reviews and support packaging and delivery issue resolution.

Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives in planning and logistics.
Key Requirements

Proven experience in production planning and inventory control, ideally in a Tier 1 automotive or similar high-volume environment.

Strong working knowledge of SAP (MRP/ERP) and Microsoft Office.

Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational skills.

Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.

Methodical, flexible, and tenacious in approach with a strong character and innovative mindset.
Qualifications

NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant engineering or logistics discipline.

HNC, IOSCM Level, or MP&L equivalent qualifications preferred.
Hours
Day shift – standard contractual hours.
