Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to ensure food safety, quality, and compliance across the site.
Role Overview
You'll be the site's technical authority, managing food safety systems, audits, and compliance with UK/EU legislation and BRCGS standards. You'll lead the Technical/QA team, drive continuous improvement, and act as the main technical contact for customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve Food Safety Management System and HACCP plans.
* Ensure compliance with food law, hygiene, allergen controls, and product integrity.
* Lead audits (BRCGS, customer, EHO) and manage corrective actions.
* Oversee specifications, traceability, and technical documentation.
* Support NPD and process changes from a technical perspective.
* Collaborate with Operations on hygiene and factory standards.
* Coach and develop the Technical/QA team, fostering a strong food safety culture.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as Technical Manager or Senior QA in food manufacturing
* Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and UK food legislation.
* Audit management experience.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
