Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Educational Psychologist to join Wolverhampton City Council on a locum basis. The successful candidate will provide psychological services to support children and young people, working collaboratively with schools, families, and other professionals to promote positive educational outcomes.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
  • Work closely with schools, parents, and multi-agency teams to develop strategies that support learning and emotional well-being.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on assessments and observations.
  • Deliver consultations and training sessions to educational staff and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.
  • Travel across Wolverhampton for face-to-face visits (driving essential).


Requirements

  • HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Proven experience in educational psychology within a local authority or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
