Position: Family Support Worker
Location: Across the Wolverhampton area
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: From 18.85
Working Pattern: Full-Time, 37 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate
DBS Requirement: Enhanced with adults and children


About the Role:
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality Keep in Touch arrangements, ensuring that children can maintain meaningful connections with their birth families and other significant individuals. Your responsibilities will include:


Planning, supervising, and facilitating individual and group work with children and adoptive families.
Collaborating with families and professionals to assess needs and develop adoption support plans.
Preparing children for adoption in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner.
Conducting life story work and creating Life Story Books.
Managing post-adoption contact through Letterbox and direct interactions.
Facilitating and evaluating specialist group work and support groups.
Monitoring progress towards agreed outcomes and maintaining accurate records.
Attending and contributing to meetings, including court proceedings.
Adopting a restorative practise approach in all interactions.
Supporting families in a culturally sensitive and non-discriminatory manner.

What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should have:


NVQ Level 3 or above in Children and Young People.
Experience working with children and families, preferably in a support or social work capacity.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with families and professionals.
A flexible approach to work, including the ability to work early mornings or evenings as required.
A genuine commitment to supporting the needs of children and families.
