Step into a role where your leadership, experience, and compassion can shape the future for vulnerable young people.

We're recruiting on behalf of a client for a Senior Residential Care Worker to guide and inspire both the young people in your care and the team around you. This is your chance to combine hands-on support with the opportunity to lead shifts, mentor colleagues, and ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment.
In this role, you'll be more than a carer - you'll be a role model, decision-maker, and trusted figure who helps young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

The Role:
As Senior Residential Care Worker, you'll take on both direct care and leadership responsibilities, including:
路Leading and motivating your team to deliver exceptional, consistent care.
路Acting as shift leader, taking operational responsibility when required.
路Building a safe, warm, and positive home environment.
路Supporting young people with daily routines, schoolwork, appointments, and leisure activities.
路Acting as a key worker, contributing to and monitoring care plans.
路Managing challenging behaviour using effective strategies and company-approved techniques.
路Supervising and developing team members.
路Working collaboratively with parents, social workers, and other professionals.

Hours:
Work a rolling rota of two days on (7:00am-11:00pm, including shared sleep-ins) followed by four days off.

What We're Looking For:
路QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Care (essential).
路Residential childcare experience, ideally supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
路Strong leadership and staff supervision experience.
路Knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding, and Quality Standards.
路Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
路Ability to lead by example while maintaining professional boundaries.
路Full UK driving licence (preferred).

Why Join?
You'll have the scope to influence outcomes for both the young people and the staff team you lead, supported by ongoing training and career development. Every shift is an opportunity to make a tangible difference - and see the results of your leadership in action.
If you're confident, committed, and ready to take ownership of a rewarding leadership role in residential childcare, we'd love to hear from you.
