The menus are all core to spec and the positions will ideally suit contract catering chefs - schools, colleges and military facilities where meals and menus are cooked in bulk.

As the Head Chef you will lead the team in all areas of food production, work closely with the catering manager, and take full responsibility for all aspects of kitchen management.

Role - Head Chef

  • Lead the daily operation of the kitchen, you will be hands on.
  • Manage the GP, labour and all costs and budgets.
  • Recruit, train, develop and lead your team.
  • Monitor stock levels and manage stock orders
  • Manage the cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
  • Prepare and cook the core company menu
  • Plan rotas and holidays to meet service level requirements

We are looking for:

  • Successful and experienced Head Chef with a background managing high volume fast paced kitchens serving core to spec company menus
  • Patience for training and developing chefs to improve their sklills.
  • Friendly, with an engaging personality and a genuine love for customer service.
  • Strong communicator who can motivate and develop their team to deliver with enthusiasm and great personality.
  • Knowledgeable in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Commercially aware to achieve sales and profit targets - GP, costs, budgets, labour, wastage.
  • Passion for delivering the highest quality food and service.
