Fire Electrician / Fire Alarm Engineer / Emergency Lighting TechnicianThe RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Fire Electrician, Fire Alarm Engineer, or Emergency Lighting Technician to join our maintenance team. You’ll be responsible for servicing, repairing, and installing essential life safety systems — including fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and fire shutters — ensuring properties remain safe and fully compliant.Key Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, and install fire alarm systems and emergency lighting (up to 240v)
  • Conduct remedial works on fire detection and life safety equipment
  • Maintain fire extinguishers, fire shutters, and smoke curtains
  • Ensure full compliance with fire safety regulations and health & safety standards
  • Respond to breakdowns and customer issues, providing timely resolutions
  • Complete accurate work records and manage tools, stock, and equipment
  • Support wider maintenance projects and safety programmes
Requirements
  • Qualified Electrician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 — Part P and 17th or 18th Edition preferred)
  • Valid CSCS card (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer, Fire & Security Electrician, or similar role
  • Good working knowledge of BS 5839 fire alarm standards and emergency lighting regulations
  • Familiarity with fire safety legislation and health & safety laws
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer care abilities
  • Flexible to work some weekends, evenings, and participate in standby/call-out rota
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable
  • FIA (Fire Industry Association) qualification (QCF Level 3)
  • Experience using mobile job reporting systems or handheld devices
