Client

A well-established privately owned company who are leading experts in sheet metal fabrications including laser cutting and assembly, able to manufacture to their clients specifications and also offer a design for manufacture service. This client has an open position for a Design Engineer.

The Role

• Provide support to the business development executive and operations team and work to ensure that all aspects of CAD design are created to fully meet the high specifications set
• Responsible for ensuring the success of the design from inception through to delivery into manufacture
• Proficient knowledge of 2D and 3D software packages to create professional work to drawings
• Generate accurate CAD/CAM drawings of parts using customer supplied drawings and / or DXF’s
• Analyse the design proposals and the technical information in order to identify the issues arising during product development, defining and implementing adequate solutions in order to reach a feasible proposal with a high form and aesthetic quality
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
• A creative, logical approach for generating new ideas and solutions, with the ability to transition through to product / project development
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office.

• Professional and suitably qualified, Cad Cam design engineer
• Highly Motivated, Honest, trustworthy, and able to work with integrity
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills - listening, speaking, and writing
• Ability to work on own initiative using a pro-active approach to problem solving
• Minimum of five years’ experience working within a sheet metal fabrication environment
• Degree in mechanical engineering or similar would be preferred but not essential.
