We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, ensuring that all transport regulations and company policies are adhered to. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service while operating various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries.
Duties
- Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Deliver goods to designated locations on time, maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.
- Assist in the training of new drivers as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service at all times.
