Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Compliance Manager (Water Lead) on a 2 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.
About the Role:
As the Water Hygiene Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and delivery of the water hygiene property compliance and asset management strategies that ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and in line with all relevant legislative standards, including Legionella control and ACOP L8 guidelines.
You will be responsible for managing risk assessments, developing policies, and overseeing planned and reactive maintenance programs to ensure water safety across a varied estate.
Key Responsibilities:
- The role will be a busy and high profile one, so the ability to prioritise and effectively manage your workload are key skills for the role.
- Lead on water hygiene compliance for a diverse portfolio, including schools and corporate buildings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective Legionella control measures.
- Conduct and oversee water risk assessments and audits.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with current water hygiene policies.
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and facilities management teams to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports for senior management.
- Chair and facilitate water related meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all relevant issues are raised, recorded and addressed
- Provide effective leadership in all aspects of water hygiene management, related to risk and asset management.
- Build strong internal and external working relationships to provide opportunities for knowledge transfer, training and guidance on water hygiene best practices.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of Legionella control, ACOP L8, HSG 274 Parts 1, 2 and 3 and all relevant water safety regulations.
- Experience managing water hygiene across multiple sites, ideally within a local authority or educational setting (Minimum 3 years).
- Ability to develop and implement risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Relevant qualification in water hygiene management or environmental health is desirable.
- Technological proficiency, whereby you can demonstrate you’re comfortable with current modern technology and its application in property compliance and safety management for diverse estate portfolio.
- As part of the recruitment process, you may be required to attend a skills test.
Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible working arrangements available)
