Our client is seeking an experienced finance professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing SME, based in Worcester. This company is a specialist B2B service provider and is seeking a Finance Director to oversee all financial and accounting activities. This is a hands-on role, offering the chance to shape financial strategy, optimise processes, and work closely with senior management to drive informed decision-making.As the sole finance professional within the organisation, the Finance Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, delivering financial insights, and supporting the company's ambitious growth plans. This position is ideally suited to someone seeking a fast-paced environment and a fully rounded finance leadership role, with scope to get involved in wider business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, in

including P&L, balance sheet, payroll, billing, accounts receivable/payable, and the general ledger.

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage annual budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and tax regulations (HMRC) and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, provide strategic insights, and support senior management with financial planning.

Skills and Attributes Required:

  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in a dynamic SME environment, ideally within a B2B service environment such as logistics, supply chain or wholesale retail.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software, including VT Software and web-based financial management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
