Your new companyOur client, an established Tier 1 civil engineering contractor operating in the water industry, is seeking a Project Manager to join their delivery team. This multi-accredited and high-profile organisation has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector, delivering projects valued between £1m-£15m directly for Severn Trent Water and Thames Water, and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. With a healthy orderbook of AMP8 works, they are actively looking to strengthen their delivery team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Worcester office with occasional site visits and the option for hybrid working.

Your new roleAs Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing financial forecasts, monitoring and controlling project costs and cost reporting, and producing monthly reports to the Contracts Manager
  • Delivering projects from design phase through to completion, including all handover documentation
  • Reviewing project progress, budget resources and planning
  • Ensuring production and implementation of project plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans and procurement of plant and materials are in line with company procedures
  • Reviewing work packages and ensuring the scope of work is defined and understood
  • Chairing weekly site meetings and ensuring production of accurate records of any discussions and actions
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with framework suppliers, design consultants and the client
  • Developing and maintaining construction programmes with staff
  • Ensuring detailed site diaries/records are completed.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:

  • Proven successful experience managing projects from inception through to completion in the water industry
  • Good knowledge of CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control, including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
  • Knowledge of NEC form of contract including early warning and compensation event mechanisms
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
