Reporting directly to the Production Director, you'll take full ownership of creating and managing machine option quotations across Europe. Whether it's standard configurations, bespoke adaptations, or retrofit solutions, your work will ensure our quotes are accurate, competitive, and delivered with precision.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a technically complex environment and understands the critical link between engineering and commercial success.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the creation and life cycle management of all machine option quotations.
- Collaborate across departments-Engineering, Supply Chain, Production-to deliver accurate, timely, and profitable proposals.
- Drive each quotation as a project, ensuring clear timelines, accountability, and follow-through.
- Implement and refine cost models that reflect market realities and boost conversion rates.
- Prepare estimates across machining, fabrication, engineering design, materials, and assembly-then track performance to identify commercial improvement opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with our European Sales teams to align on strategy and deliver value.
- Analyse KPIs and use data insights to improve revenue, profitability, and success rates.
- Continuously improve the quotation process to deliver greater value to both our customers and our production teams.
- Support twice-yearly costing reviews with sound commercial analysis and judgement.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven background in estimation and quotation within a related engineering or manufacturing sector.
- Clear understanding of how commercial performance ties to estimation strategy.
- Strong technical insight into complex manufacturing and engineering processes.
- Solid commercial and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across multiple nationalities and functions.
- Confident in decision-making and problem-solving, even under pressure.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Detail-focused and customer-oriented.
- Willing and able to travel when required.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant field.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within a machine tool or precision engineering environment.
- Multilingual capability-especially in another core European language alongside fluent business English.
- Background in implementing or improving business systems related to estimation and quotation.
We're seeking someone who brings industry insight, technical rigour, and commercial sharpness. If you're driven to improve processes, influence key decisions, and contribute directly to business success-this is your opportunity.
