Our client, a vibrant organisation, is seeking a dynamic Buyer/Product Developer to join their enthusiastic team in Worcester. This is your chance to blend creativity in a role that promises excitement and challenge!

As a key player in the buying and product development team, you will work collaboratively to create and refine exhilarating new product ranges that resonate with customers and drive sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular range reviews to enhance product offerings based on customer feedback and market trends.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to analyse trends, identifying fresh market opportunities.
  • Liaise with the Far East sourcing team and UK warehouse to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Set and uphold quality standards for all products.
  • Manage category development, launching seasonal newness while evolving existing product lines.
  • Drive the creative process from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with brand vision.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers to meet company margin requirements while fostering strong relationships.
  • Oversee critical path management and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Lead product selection meetings and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Attend UK and overseas trade shows, enhancing supplier relationships and product knowledge.

Ad Hoc Duties:

  • Assist in producing weekly trade reports and maintain accurate product data.
  • Support trade shows and other assignments as needed.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven background in product development or a buying team, with experience in managing junior team members.
  • Familiarity with purchasing in a Homeware environment is a plus!
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for discussing finances and budgets.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining resilience and flexibility.
  • An understanding of critical paths and seasonal range development.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
  • A positive, enthusiastic "can do" attitude.
  • Empathy towards the customer and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseas.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
