Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Buyer.

365 Resourcing are the preferred supplier working on behalf of Mazak.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a buyer in the Purchasing Department. The role will be responsible for an existing area of suppliers, predominantly supplying a range of components used in general assembly, from a fast-paced supply chain environment.

Job Description

- Manage supply chain deliveries in-line with ERP requirements.

- Work with supply chain to maintain product quality and resolve quality issues efficiently.

- Source and negotiate new products to support NPI and new machine options.

- Actively work with supply chain to drive efficiencies and cost reduction.

- Maintain supplier records to ensure compliance with ISO procedures and business processes.

- Supply Chain Compliance adherence (Preferential Origin, CBAM, UK/EU Sanctions etc).

- Identify, manage and mitigate supply chain risk.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • IT literate, strong capability in excel, data analysis, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • An understanding of ERP with the ability to integrate the ERP with the physical operating system.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and environment.
  • Understanding of Compliance and its importance within a Global Supply Chain.
  • Ability to develop Supplier Relationships.
  • Excellent planning and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team by example and supporting team development.
  • Clear understanding of project / production planning.
  • A strategic mind set capable of embracing change.
  • Strong decision maker in line with business needs.
  • Evidenced strong negotiation skills & the ability to seek commercial advantage.
  • Strong Planning and Scheduling ability.

- CIPS certified (Professional purchasing qualification).

- Knowledge of Microsoft AX preferred but not essential.

- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power-point).
