Graduate/Junior Applications Engineer - Worcester - £25,000 to £36,000 per annum plus benefits

This Graduate/Junior Applications Engineer role offers the perfect opportunity to develop your skills in software development, automation, and engineering within a dynamic and innovative environment. Candidates are expected to have a strong engineering (electrical/control systems) background and Windows based coding experience (ideally C# or Visual Basic), allowing development of new code, and modification of existing code for bespoke customer applications and core products. Some hands on electrical experience may also be required.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and modify C# control software using Visual Studio and a bespoke API for automation and custom software solutions.
  • Support legacy systems in VB6 and assist worldwide customers and engineers remotely with fault-finding and integrating new functionalities.
  • Work on-site occasionally to provide hands-on support and ensure seamless system integration and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide input into hardware design and develop core product software.
  • Interface with third-party equipment using C# language and protocols such as Ethernet, Serial, Ethercat, CAN, and Profibus.
  • Analyse engineering systems to advise on automation methods and post-test diagnostics for fault rectification within complex engineering systems.

What You Will Bring: 

  • A strong engineering background with excellent fault-finding abilities and a proactive approach to learning new concepts.
  • Proficiency in C# and Visual Studio, with experience in other programming languages considered a plus.
  • A degree in electrical, mechanical, robotics, mechatronics, or automation engineering is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with logical thinking and effective time management.
  • A full UK driving licence with the ability to travel occasionally, including potential overseas trips.
