Do you have hands-on Mechanical Engineering experience?

Are you looking to step into a secure and rewarding role where you can train and coach the next generation of engineers?


This is a fantastic opportunity to become a Mechanical Trainer / Assessor at a state-of-the-art training facility in West Cumbria. You'll join a respected institution with a strong reputation for supporting learners and staff - offering great development opportunities, a positive culture, and structured training.


You'll deliver practical Mechanical Engineering training and assess learners progressing through their apprenticeship programmes. You'll also provide coaching, run regular progress reviews, and support learners on their journey to qualification and career success.


This is a practical-focused role based at the a world-class training hub, working closely with apprentices and employers. Full training and support to achieve assessor or teaching qualifications will be provided.


This role would suit a Mechanical Engineer, Technician or Fitter with strong hands-on skills, who enjoys coaching others and wants a long-term career with impact and purpose.

The Role:

  • Delivering practical Mechanical training and assessments to apprentices
  • Supporting learner progress through coaching and structured reviews
  • Full Assessor/Trainer qualification provided
  • 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday


The Person:

  • Mechanical Engineering background
  • Level 3 qualification
  • No prior teaching or assessing experience required
