Do you have hands-on experience in machining and want to pass your knowledge on to the next generation?

Would you like to step away from the tools into a teaching role, with full training and support provided?

On offer is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected college that invests in staff development, values industry experience, and offers long-term stability, generous holidays, and a great work-life balance.

The organisation is a respected education provider with a strong reputation for supporting skilled tradespeople transitioning into teaching.

If you're a time-served machinist looking to step off the tools and share your knowledge, you'll be fully supported - including funded teaching qualifications, mentoring, and structured onboarding to help you succeed in a new career path.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering practical and classroom-based sessions to learners on machining and engineering programmes. You'll help develop learners' skills in areas such as milling, turning, CNC, and manual machining, using your industry knowledge to guide and support their progress.

The ideal candidate will be a time-served machinist with strong hands-on experience in manual and/or CNC machining. You don't need any prior teaching experience - just the confidence to speak to a group, the willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed. Full training and support, including funded teaching qualifications, will be provided.

This role would suit someone looking for a rewarding new challenge off the tools, who enjoys mentoring others, and who wants a better work-life balance with a clear progression route in education.

The Role:

  • Delivering machining lessons
  • Teaching CNC, manual turning/milling, and other machining techniques
  • Full training and support provided for teaching qualifications
  • Monday to Friday, 37 Hours/Week

The Person:

  • Strong background in machining (manual and/or CNC)
  • Level 3 Qualification
