Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. The Truck Driver will primarily operate flatbed lorries, ensuring that all cargo is secured and delivered on time.
Duties
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork for each delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Driver with a valid HGV licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines consistently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when necessary.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks as needed.
Temp to perm positions for client based in Blyth.
All work is general trunking, no handball involved, below shifts available!
Monday - Friday
2am, 7am, 2pm, 3pm starts!
assessments on either 2nd, 6th or 8th may to start on next week rotation!
please note must have held license for 1 year.
