Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working on behalf of a global manufacturing business located in Worksop who have a requirement to recruit a Development Machinist into their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an R&D team, modifying and developing prototype components.

Location: WorksopSalary: Negotiable Shift: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 16:30Role: The Development Machinist will be responsible for creating, refining, and testing prototypes, as well as evaluating both new and existing components.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various manual Milling, Turning, and Grinding machines to produce and modify components.
  • Perform reverse engineering on components.
  • Modify parts and components through precision machining.
  • Troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with the development team to produce and evaluate prototype components.
  • Test new and existing products or methods.
  • Identify ways to safely enhance product performance.
  • Present concepts to visitors.

Requirements:

  • Apprenticeship or time-served Machinist.
  • Strong skills in machining, bench fitting, and fabrication.
  • Innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Background in toolmaking or machining.
  • Capability to work safely and reliably in a workshop environment.
  • Good communication skills to share ideas and report progress.
  • Some understanding of calibration techniques and methods.
