We are recruiting on behalf of our independent SEMH client school in Worksop for a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join their committed team this term.

This is a rewarding opportunity to lead safeguarding across a vibrant specialist setting, ensuring all pupils are safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.

About the School

Our client's school provides a structured, supportive environment for students aged 11-17 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion due to behavioural challenges.
The school re-engages learners through a personalised academic and vocational curriculum, underpinned by strong relationships and consistent pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of safeguarding and child protection in the school
  • Offer exceptional pastoral support to pupils
  • Monitor and report on safeguarding trends to senior leadership
  • Maintain robust safeguarding records and procedures
  • Liaise with external agencies and build strong community links
  • Support behaviour strategies in collaboration with the wider team
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and a positive school culture
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role, ideally in a SEND or SEMH setting
  • A recognised DSL qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting students with SEND
  • Passionate about student welfare, inclusion, and positive outcomes
