Quality Engineer
Location: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Worthing, West Sussex
Salary:            £40,000 – £45,000
Job Type: Â Â Â Â Â Â Permanent, Full-Time
An established precision engineering manufacturer in Worthing is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen product and process quality. This is a hands-on position working with production, suppliers, and customers to drive measurable improvement across quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead CAPA investigations – root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct internal audits and support external / customer audits
- Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Analyse SPC and capability data (Cp, Cpk) to monitor performance
- Manage non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier returns (8D reporting)
- Update and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve delivery performance
- Prepare and present quality data, metrics, and reports to management
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and inspection
Ideal Background:
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing or precision engineering
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and formal audit procedures
- Skilled in CAPA, SPC, 8D, and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Strong communicator who can influence at all levels of the business
- Proficient in Excel / Minitab or similar for quality data analysis
- HNC / Degree in Engineering or related discipline desirable
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lead Auditor training advantageous
