A manufacturing business based in Worthing is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to support production output while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and accuracy.
This Machine Operator role involves operating and setting production machinery, completing routine checks, inspecting finished parts, and supporting assembly activity. The successful Machine Operator will work closely with the production team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to specification.
This position suits a Machine Operator with hands-on machining or manufacturing experience who values consistency, teamwork, and structured working hours.
Key responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently
  • Set up machines for production runs and reload jobs as required
  • Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance
  • Inspect finished components against quality standards
  • Use basic metrology tools including Verniers and Micrometres
  • Assemble parts and support general production activity
  • Record production data and report issues promptly

Skills & experience

  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator or within manufacturing
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings
  • Manual lathe experience
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical awareness
  • Comfortable working in a production environment
