Environmental Permitting Coordinator (Water)
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison for environmental permitting matters with the Environment Agency and Natural England.
Lead negotiations and secure all required environmental permits, consents, and licences across Sussex to support our AMP capital programme and wastewater operations.
Ensure new permit conditions are clearly communicated and integrated into business operations.
Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental permitting across the organisation.
Represent us at both regional and national forums on permitting issues, including engagements with regulators and Water UK.
Maintain and update the company's permit management system to reflect new or revised permit conditions.
About You:
You'll bring a solid understanding of environmental permitting, ideally with experience working directly with regulatory bodies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent communication abilities, capable of working across all levels of the organisation and with external partners.
Proven experience in liaising and negotiating with environmental regulators.
Ability to interpret and simplify complex regulatory frameworks.
Strong verbal reasoning and analytical skills.
Proficient in IT and numerate.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
A degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
Experience within the water industry or environmental sector, particularly in wastewater and waste management.
