About the Role:

As a Category Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Category and Sourcing team, supporting the development and implementation of demand strategies across multiple categories. You'll work closely with the Senior Category Manager and engage with various stakeholders to ensure procurement excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Category and Sourcing team to deliver comprehensive category strategies and develop specific sub-category strategies.
  • Gather and analyse internal and external data to provide valuable insights that inform category strategy development.
  • Collect and assess customer requirements and volume demands, ensuring alignment with overall strategy.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of category/sub-category spend, including commodity pricing, to share actionable insights with the team.
  • Deliver opportunity assessments and value analyses to identify potential savings.
  • Drive aggregation and standardisation efforts to minimise spot buys and tail spend.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation to ensure early involvement of procurement in third-party spend.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, proactively identifying enhancements in processes and practises.
  • Meet annual savings targets while effectively mitigating risks and reporting on performance against KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with all procurement governance processes in your interactions.
