Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Healthcare Project
Salary: 65K - 75K - Depending on candidate experience.
Location: Worthing
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Cost Advisor to support a major new cancer centre development. This role will initially focus on the bid phase, moving into delivery and cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Senior Cost Advisor on behalf of the client during bid development and throughout delivery.
- Provide expert advice under NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, ensuring cost compliance and risk management.
- Lead on cost planning, estimating, and financial performance monitoring.
- Undertake detailed cost checking, benchmarking, and validation of contractor proposals.
- Attend weekly site meetings in Worthing (2 days per week) to review progress, programme, and commercial matters.
- Attend London office (2 days per week) for team collaboration, reporting, and bid development.
- Prepare and manage cost reports, forecasts, and commercial assessments.
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation during all stages.
- Work closely with the client, contractor, design teams, and wider project stakeholders.
- Lead commercial risk identification, tracking, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with NEC contract requirements.
About the Role:
- The successful candidate will initially work solely on this project, given its scale and complexity.
- Potential opportunity to support additional projects as workload evolves.
Requirements:
- Experienced as a QS or Cost Manager on large-scale projects.
- Strong healthcare, public sector, or large complex project experience desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contract administration and cost management.
- Solid track record working as a Senior Cost Advisor on major schemes (ideally 50m+).
- Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work confidently during both bid and delivery phases.
- Willingness to commit to required travel between Worthing and London.
