Product and Process Development Technician
14.00 per hour
Temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate
Location: Wrexham Industrial Estate
Working hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch break)

The role:
Our client, a rapidly expanding food manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality products, is looking to expand their Product and Process Development team, bridging the gap between product concept and manufacturing. This role often involves laboratory work, pilot plant trials, as well as working with production equipment.

Responsibilities of the Product and Process Development Technician:

  • Develop new recipes, packaging formats and work on existing.
  • Plan, execute, and supervise process trials in labs, pilot plants, or factories.
  • Transition processes from trial runs to large-scale production, ensuring quality is maintained.
  • Use a variety of equipment to support new product development or process improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and maintain records related to process development.
  • Ensure all aspects of product quality, safety, and compliance with customer expectations are met.
  • Work with other teams, including engineers, scientists, and production staff.


The Candidate:
The successfully appointed Product and Process Development Technician will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Food manufacturing background would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a factory environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the product development team.
  • Skills in planning experiments, trials, and production processes would be an advantage.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues during the product development process.
  • Ability to clearly explain ideas, both verbally and in writing.
