Mechanical Fitter
Salary: 44,000-45300 DOE Per Annum + Fantastic Benefits

4 on 4 off shifts (5 x 18 day breaks)
Gap Technical is proud to be partnering with an international manufacturing business in their search for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their Wrexham Facility. This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and reputable organisation.
Role Overview
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the site through a range of engineering tasks. You will work closely with the production team to deliver timely maintenance and resolve breakdowns.
Operational Engineering

  • Diagnosing, fault finding and repair of Medium/Heavy industrial plant and machinery.
  • Completing preventative maintenance checks and inspections.
  • Developing and implementing modifications to improved reliability of plant and machinery.
  • Working as a team with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Working to a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays.
  • Adherence to Health & Safety with absolute priority.
  • Lifting and handling plant and machinery components using appropriate equipment and techniques.

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Commitment to maintaining high operational and safety standards.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to challenges.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Time served with EITB/equivalent Certificate of Craftsmanship.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding
  • Risk assessment and safety awareness, guarding of machinery legislation.
  • High pressure steam maintenance.
  • MS Office or equivalent.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Minimum of BTEC ONC level in Mechanical Engineering.
