We're looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Construction Buyer to join this busy and growing Construction Contractor
Based within their experienced Commercial team, this role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of construction projects by ensuring materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively
What You'll Be Doing
- Ordering of construction materials, tools and equipment
- Coordinating the ordering and delivery of construction materials to meet project timelines
- Managing the hire and return of tools, machinery, and temporary infrastructure
- Comparing supplier quotes and assisting with procurement decisions
- Monitoring usage and availability of company-owned equipment across sites
- Producing regular reports on procurement activity and plant utilisation
- Supporting the development and maintenance of procurement schedules
- Attending site and project meetings to provide updates on supply chain matters
- Carrying out site visits to ensure procurement processes are being followed
- Assisting with general procurement administration and ad-hoc tasks
You'll have:
- Knowledge & Understanding of Construction
- Familiarity of Construction materials
- Understanding of procurement, logistics and supply chain operations
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
- Previous experience in a construction or project-based environment
- A proactive approach and the ability to work well under pressure
