Highways SHE Advisor - Highways Solutions
Location: Wymondham, Norfolk
Hours: 45 hours per week
Salary: Up to £50,000 plus £5,000 car allowance
My client is seeking a SHE Advisor to join their Transportation team based in Wymondham. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that delivers end-to-end highway maintenance and improvement services-from carriageway treatment design and product manufacture to installation, temporary traffic management, small civils works, patching, and road markings.
The Role
The SHE Advisor will play a key role in promoting and supporting the delivery of health, safety, environmental and wellbeing strategies across the Highways Solutions contract. The position involves both office and site-based responsibilities, with some travel to other business unit locations.
Key Responsibilities:
·Champion safety, health, and environmental campaigns across the contract.
·Produce reports, performance data, and support with audits, meetings, and workshops.
·Assist with closing out actions from incident investigations and safety observations.
·Support the Contract Management and Operational Teams on legal compliance and hazard control.
·Deliver test and inspection programmes and maintain records.
·Liaise with occupational health teams to provide health and wellbeing support.
·Collate SHE performance data for internal and client reporting.
·Participate in regular meetings with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners.
·Promote the reporting of safety observations and provide follow-up feedback.
·Lead incident investigations and support root cause analysis.
Requirements:
This role would suit an individual who:
·Has experience within highways or civils.
·Possesses a strong understanding of SHE legislation and ISO: 9001, 14001, and 45001.
·Holds a foundation-level environmental qualification and is a member of IOSH.
·Holds a Nebosh general certificate.
·Has experience with temporary traffic management and premises/facilities management.
