TVM Cheltenham Ltd is a growing family-owned mobility company, established in 2000. Operating in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire and Bath & NE Somerset, we supply and maintain a range of mobility equipment to help clients stay independent for longer in their own homes. Our aim is to provide the best level of service we can, to support individuals, families, and the community with their requirements. With extensive experience in the field, we are specialists in the provision of hoisting systems (ceiling track) and our stairlift and large lift operations are rapidly expanding. The business continues to develop in all areas, and we have recently been successful in securing further contract work within our operating base.
About the role
We are offering a new Mobility Service & Repair Engineer (Trainee or Experienced) the opportunity to join our existing team. This rewarding role will involve undertaking routine maintenance and servicing, in addition to general fault finding and repairs. You will be well supported, and training and development opportunities will be ongoing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending client premises to service or repair equipment, such as hoists and stairlifts.
- Carrying out routine weight testing of hoisting equipment, which will involve some lifting.
- Ensuring all reports relating to the role are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
- Responsibility for keeping the company vehicle and van stock well maintained.
- Participation in company on call rota (providing out of hours coverage)
- Working in line with company values, providing a person-centred service.
We are looking for:
- Experience within the field would be preferred.
- An electro-mechanical aptitude and enjoyment of fault finding.
- A work ethic and values which closely match those of the company.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- A flexible approach, together with a willingness to share experience and to learn.
- A willingness to learn more about the industry and a wide range of different equipment.
- A desire to work in a role which helps other members of the community maintain their independence.
- A good level of physical fitness.
To undertake the work, you will need to hold a full UK driving license and should also be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check which will be organised by the company.

Summary of the role:
- Full-time, Permanent
- Start salary – up to £32,000 depending on experience
- Standard hours – 40 hours per week. Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
- Start date – as soon as possible
- Location – Yate, South Gloucestershire.
