Affinity Workforce are seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Manager to join our school community in Yate. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong caretaking or facilities management experience who is passionate about creating a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school premises
  • Manage site staff and contractors, ensuring high standards of work and safety
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance across the site
  • Support emergency procedures including fire safety and first aid
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to safeguarding policies

Essential Qualifications & Training:

  • Clean, current driving licence
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or willingness to attain)
  • Knowledge of moving and handling procedures
  • First Aid certificate (or willingness to train)
  • Fire Warden training (or willingness to train as lead Fire Warden)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent)
  • Specialist training in Legionella, Asbestos, or Fire Safety

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous caretaking or site management experience in a school or similar setting
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation
  • Trade experience in plumbing, building, or electrical work
  • Ability to lead a team and work independently
  • Experience conducting risk assessments
  • Familiarity with small industrial, electrical, or mechanical equipment
  • Basic building repair and maintenance knowledge
