We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Payroll Administrator to join our HR Payroll team on a permanent basis. Based in a hybrid role, you'll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment where accuracy and compliance are key. Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Processing & ComplianceAssist in processing monthly payrolls for multiple UK entities (approx. 500+ employees), including variations such as SSP, SMP, unpaid leave, and family leave.
Ensure payroll changes are actioned accurately through reconciliation reports.
Distribute payslips and support BACS payment processing.
Submit Real-Time Information (RTI) returns to HMRC and manage pension contributions and auto-enrolment.
Handle payroll year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds.
Maintain payroll procedures, documentation, and records in line with legislation.
Assist in payroll compliance for Norwegian and Indian entities.
Calculate Norwegian tax and process through the payroll system.
Submit A1 dispensation requests and Norwegian withholding tax returns.
Produce and post monthly payroll General Ledger journals.
Complete timely reconciliations of payroll-related GL codes.
Respond to employee payroll queries.
Administer the Childcare Voucher scheme.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
Essential:
Demonstrable experience running multiple payrolls (500+ employees).
In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pension auto-enrolment.
Strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Experience with manual statutory calculations (e.g. SSP, SMP).
Solid problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience using PeopleXCD or other integrated HR/payroll systems.
Familiarity with international payroll, especially Norwegian tax and compliance.
Working knowledge of Aviva pensions.
Experience with payroll-related journal entries and finance systems.
Essential: Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) or equivalent
Desirable: Additional training in payroll software or finance systems
