- Collaborate with engineering teams to gather, document, and refine customer requirements, contributing to system design and architecture across underwater domains.
- Work closely with project managers and sales teams to support the development of technical proposals and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Lead technical efforts from concept through to final system delivery—on time, on budget, and to spec—while resolving any technical issues that arise.
- Develop and execute rigorous testing and validation processes for hardware, firmware, and software components.
- Prepare and review technical documentation including specifications, designs, reports, and manuals.
- Identify and manage technical risks, escalating where necessary.
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, providing expert advice and support.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in engineering and operational processes.
- Background in engineering design, systems architecture, or systems engineering—preferably within the defence or maritime sector.
- Experience working directly with customers, subcontractors, and partners.
- Strong ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Proven track record of delivering projects within agreed timelines and adapting to evolving requirements.
- Knowledge of project/task management methodologies.
- Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle in defence.
- Awareness of defence capability frameworks or similar structures.
- Degree in an engineering discipline such as systems, mechanical, electrical, software, or communications engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
- Security Clearance: UK nationals only (no dual nationality). Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
- Medical: No regular medical required.
