Injection Mould Setter (Weekend Shift)

Permanent - Weekend Shift (Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 06:00-18:00)

Salary - £18.12 per hour + shift allowance

A leading UK manufacturer of high-quality plastic drainage products is seeking an experienced Injection Mould Setter to join its production team based in Yaxley, Cambridgeshire.

This well-established company supplies durable and reliable moulded components to the construction and infrastructure sectors and is continuing to grow through investment in people, technology, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set, operate, and optimise injection moulding machines to ensure consistent quality and efficiency

     

  • Conduct tooling changes safely, accurately, and within planned timescales

     

  • Calibrate masterbatch dosing units in accordance with setting sheets

     

  • Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and waste

     

  • Ensure production output meets timing, quality, and efficiency standards

     

  • Maintain accurate records of downtime, scrap quantities, and other key data via the ERP system

     

  • Support operators with guidance and training where required

     

  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping across the department

     

  • Provide clear communication with supervisors and production management during handovers

     

 

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in injection moulding, with proven setting experience

     

  • Strong understanding of plastics materials, tooling, and process optimisation

     

  • Confident in troubleshooting and machine adjustments to achieve best cycle times and quality

     

  • Computer literate - capable of inputting data accurately into ERP or production systems

     

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude

     

  • Effective communicator with good written and spoken English

     

  • Organised and calm under pressure, with strong attention to detail

     

  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations within a manufacturing environment

     

 

Hours:

  • Weekend Shift: Friday / Saturday / Sunday - 06:00 to 18:00

     

  • Full-time, Permanent (approx. 37 hours per week)

     

  • Flexibility required to support other shifts as business needs dictate
