Buyer

A leading Defence organisation is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their Helicopters division in Yeovil on a long-term contract.

• Role: Buyer
• Pay: Up to 25 p/hr (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
• Duration: 9-12 month contract
• Location: Yeovil
• Working Pattern: Hybrid 2 days (fully onsite requirement for first 2 weeks)

This role will play an integral part in keeping critical operations moving, managing supplier relationships, placing purchase orders, and driving procurement performance.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing the end-to-end purchasing process for critical components and services
• Handling RFQs, supplier negotiations, and purchase order placement
• Ensuring accuracy and compliance across all purchasing documentation
• Liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
• Collaborating closely with internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to support smooth business operations

This is a hands-on role that offers the perfect balance of responsibility and autonomy.

What we're looking for:

• Experience within Aerospace, Defence or a similar environment
• Experience in RFQs, supplier management, and PO processing
• Advanced excel skills (Formulas, VLOOKUPs)
• Experience with suppliers
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in purchasing documentation
• Ability to take ownership of the procurement process while working collaboratively
