A leading Defence organisation is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their Helicopters division in Yeovil on a long-term contract.
- Role: Buyer
- Pay: Up to 25 p/hr (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
- Duration: 9-12 month contract
- Location: Yeovil
- Working Pattern: Hybrid 2 days (fully onsite requirement for first 2 weeks)
This role will play an integral part in keeping critical operations moving, managing supplier relationships, placing purchase orders, and driving procurement performance.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing the end-to-end purchasing process for critical components and services
- Handling RFQs, supplier negotiations, and purchase order placement
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance across all purchasing documentation
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
- Collaborating closely with internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to support smooth business operations
This is a hands-on role that offers the perfect balance of responsibility and autonomy.
What we're looking for:
- Experience within Aerospace, Defence or a similar environment
- Experience in RFQs, supplier management, and PO processing
- Advanced excel skills (Formulas, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in purchasing documentation
- Ability to take ownership of the procurement process while working collaboratively
