We are currently seeking a Procurement Buyer to join our client's dynamic Supply Chain Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of materials that support production requirements.

Hours: 8am until 5pm

Pay: 17.00 - 21.30 per hour depending on experience



Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to MRP messages to procure materials in line with production requirements while minimising surplus and obsolete inventory.

  • Raise, manage, and close Purchase Orders according to operational needs.

  • Provide accurate monthly supplier forecasts and maintain procurement parameters.

  • Resolve issues related to hold racks, invoice discrepancies, and customs.

  • Manage the end-to-end process of part/product procurement, ensuring on-time delivery.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

  • Monitor and review supplier performance, taking proactive steps to improve delivery schedules.

  • Drive supplier relationship development and process improvements.

  • Work cross-functionally to optimise procurement and supply chain processes.



Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally within a production environment.

  • Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP systems).

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and re-prioritise effectively.

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong analytic and numerical skills.

  • Knowledge and application of Health & Safety standards.

  • Customer-focused with a track record of achieving targets.

Additional Information

  • Full training provided where required (e.g., manual handling, 5S, HOS principles).

  • This position is subject to Export Control Licenses and Technical Assistance Agreements.

  • Mandatory requirements: BPSS clearance, Right to Work, UK DBS check, and Drug Screening.
