About the Role
You'll be joining a committed English department that fosters a love of literature and language. The school promotes a rich curriculum and encourages innovative teaching approaches that engage and challenge students across all abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Inspire students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
- Support extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, writing competitions, or theatre trips
- Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and academic progress
- Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Experience teaching English up to GCSE level
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for literature, language, and student achievement
- A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
