We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Services team in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The successful candidate will provide a client-centred approach to supporting individuals with complex disabilities, helping them to achieve their maximum level of independence and functioning within their own homes.
Occupational Therapy interventions will focus on:
- Adapting the environment to meet client needs
- Modifying tasks and activities to promote independence
- Teaching essential life and coping skills
- Educating clients, families, and carers to eliminate environmental barriers and enhance daily living
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive functional assessments for clients with complex physical and social needs.
- Lead and support a team of Occupational Therapists and support staff to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused interventions.
- Recommend and facilitate the provision of specialist equipment and home adaptations.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including health, social care, and voluntary sector partners.
- Contribute to service development, clinical supervision, and mentoring of junior staff.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with professional and service standards.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Current HCPC Registration
- Proven experience in a senior or lead role within community or adult social care settings
- Strong assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- Experience working with housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants
- Supervisory or mentoring experience
- Knowledge of local authority systems and procedures
