Our client has a great opportunity for a budding pastry chef to join a daytime catering outlet in a York city centre location. You will be working alongside an experienced catering team learning to run the pastry section:
- Baking bread, desserts and preparing, cooking and baking other pastry as required
- Supporting other members of the catering team as required
- Adhering to procedures regarding food safety, dietary and allergy requirements
- Contributing menu ideas that showcase current trends
- Keen to become responsible for your own section
- Working Monday to Friday daytime - term time only work is available if required
As the successful Trainee Pastry Chef we would expect you to have good attention to detail, be able to follow instructions and be keen to learn more about cooking.
This would be an ideal role if you enjoy baking and would like to pursue a catering career. Experience in a professional kitchen as a catering assistant, cook or baker would be useful.
You will be working for a national contract caterer with a great ethical outlook and an excellent reputation for their food. Training and development can be tailored to your aspirations with the possibility to progress further to management level.
