The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality ecological and environmental services across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Ecologist to join their team based in Lockington.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ecologist looking to develop their career within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, working on a wide variety of projects across the public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake a range of ecological field surveys, including Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys

  • Assist with ecological appraisals, impact assessments, and reports

  • Support the delivery of mitigation strategies, biodiversity net gain (BNG), and ecological management plans

  • Liaise with clients, planners, and other stakeholders as required

  • Contribute to project delivery while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice

About You

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline

  • Previous experience working in an ecological consultancy or similar role

  • Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

  • Experience with habitat and/or protected species surveys (bat experience desirable but not essential)

  • Strong report-writing and communication skills

  • A full UK driving licence
