About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic team in Yorkshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a range of tax advisory projects, provide technical guidance, and drive business development initiatives. If you are passionate about corporate tax and have a proven track record in both compliance and advisory work, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support & Compliance Oversight: Act as a senior technical resource for the corporate tax compliance team, providing guidance on complex tax matters and ensuring high-quality delivery across the board.
  • Tax Advisory Projects: Lead and support on a wide range of advisory assignments including restructures, group planning, transactions, international tax issues, and R&D claims.
  • Business Development: Play an active role in networking, attending industry events, preparing proposals, and identifying new business opportunities – both independently and in collaboration with other service lines.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Support and develop a growing team, acting as a mentor and technical coach. Share your expertise in corporation tax and encourage knowledge sharing across the service line.
  • Client Management: Build strong client relationships, proactively responding to needs, providing timely updates, and delivering high-quality planning and advisory services.
  • Team & Project Management: Lead engagements, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate team efforts to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with partners, directors, and other service lines to deliver holistic solutions to clients. Seek innovative approaches to solving complex tax challenges.
  • External Networking: Establish and maintain a network of external contacts, staying up to date with market developments and promoting the firm's wider capabilities.

Key Requirements:

  • Professional Qualification: CTA qualified.
  • Experience: Significant experience within corporate tax, with a proven track record in both compliance and advisory work.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong people management skills and experience mentoring or leading teams.
  • Business Development: A commercial mindset with a passion for business development and a demonstrated ability to spot and convert fee-generating opportunities.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – open, approachable, and able to engage effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Client Focus: A strong client service ethic with the ability to anticipate client needs and provide solutions.
  • Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge in corporate tax, and an understanding of economic and business factors affecting clients.
  • Collaboration: A team player who actively supports others and contributes to a positive team culture.
