We are actively recruiting for a Hygiene Manager for this hugely successful multi-site manufacturing business at their location near York.

The Hygiene Manager will be responsible for effectively managing and developing the site hygiene function. Leading a small team (6 hygiene operatives) you will be pro-active in achieving the highest standards of hygiene throughout the factory - ensuring that hygiene standards are fully compliant with site and customer codes of practice.

You will also be tasked with identifying, and delivering, solutions for continuous improvement - solutions that ensure Food Safety, Legality & Quality remains paramount to the success of the business.

The Role:

  • To ensure hygiene staff are appropriately trained, organised and managed to complete required workload.
  • Manage and control cleaning of machinery / environment to a scheduled programme and to the required standard.
  • Carry out regular audits of the hygiene systems and site environmental standards.
  • Actively promote a safety culture within the factory ensuring all health and safety requirements are met.
  • Management and control of departmental budget.
  • Management of control of the third-party pest control contract.
  • Implementation of hygiene safe ways of working across the site.

This is a Mon - Fri (Permanent Nights) Role: 2200 - 0600hrs

About You:

Strong Leadership skills - proven track record of leading a team of people.

Prior experience of working in a food manufacturing environment

Relevant qualifications: HACCP, COSHH, Lead Auditor, Train the Trainer would be advantageous - but not essential (full training will be given).
