Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the UK's energy market. The company have a portfolio of assets in BESS, Solar and EV Charging and we're looking for someone who already has experience in utility scale solar or BESS sector.
This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician comes with a salary just shy of 42,000 and with an extensive benefits list too.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Field Team Leader you will:
- Ensure the best performance of large-scale solar and BESS assets
- Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in York/Easingwold (with some visits up to near Hull as well)
- Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
- Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
- Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
- Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
- Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
- Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum
- 18th edition wiring regs
- Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent
- A HSE qualification is desired
- Experience within solar and/or BESS is essential
- UK driving licence is essential
Personal skills
The Solar Technician role would suit someone who is:
- Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
- Experience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial
- Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference
